John Gregor is a composer, lyricist and librettist whose musical With Glee (Book, Music, and Lyrics) played Off‑Broadway at the Kirk Theatre in a Prospect Theater Company production. With Glee premiered at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

His newest work, Chicken Tinders: A Musical Fable, premieres in Seattle this May.

​

John is the composer and lyricist of Pinkalicious the Musical, based on the book by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann, now in its eighteenth year Off‑Broadway and produced internationally.

 

Gregor’s adaptation of Gogol’s The Overcoat (Book and Lyrics) has been presented at the Bridewell Theatre in London, Barrington Stage Company, and the New York International Fringe Festival.

His work for young audiences includes collaborations on The Bully and The Changeling for Vital Theatre Company and The Invention of Edison for Pittsburgh CLO.

John holds an MFA in Musical Theater Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a degree in Musical Theater from Emerson College. He lives in New York and is represented by the Susan Gurman Agency.

In addition, John serves as Junior Vice Commander of Oliver Tilden Camp #26, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and helps organize the annual Ulysses S. Grant commemoration at Grant’s Tomb. He is a member of the Sons of Veterans Reserve and the Sons of the Revolution.
